Pulse Check
Time out! We've just passed the midpoint of the year! It's time for a check in. So how are we doing? If you're like me, you've probably been on overdrive for most of the year. Doing well, but deserving of a well needed, meditative pause...albeit near palm trees, an ocean and a cute bungalow with no cell phone coverage.
If this sounds too much like a fantasy for you or you haven't even thought about a vacation yet for the summer then it's definitely time you take a pulse check.
Whereever you are in your business, career, personal life or health goals, it's high time to celebrate your accomplishments, give yourself a pat on the back: for taking chances, trying new opportunities and most of all JUST PLAIN SURVIVING THE COG WHEELS OF LIFE.
Can't think of anything to celebrate, then why not ask a friend or a colleague that knows you well, "If you were writing an article about my work or life this year, what would you say was noteworthy about me?" OR ask, "If you were me, what would you be most proud of right now?"
I recently had such a self assessment, requested by my coach (yes as I've said many times, good coaches have their own coaches): What's working this year? Have your priorities shifted this year compared to last? What strategies are you undertaking in business this year that are making a difference? Has anything changed with your vision for your business? Personal Life? Primary Aim?
I cannot begin to tell you what happened to me when I answered these questions and realized the shifts, changes and unbelievable accomplishments I'd already had in just six months (another testament to the power of coaching). And then…I celebrated.I just booked my 2 week vacation…shhhh I'll tell you where later.
Now it's your turn, what aren't you celebrating?

Five Steps to Bring Fitness to Work
Cassie Trotter
Corporate Development Team
It's no secret. Finding time to balance work, family and fitness is challenging. When you factor in the commute, there is hardly an hour left to prepare dinner, let alone fit in 45 minutes of cardio.
It is for this reason that many employees are taking the initiative to bring wellness to their workplace. Sure, leaving work at 6:00, driving to the gym, fighting the crowds for the equipment and shower stall and then getting back in the car only to arrive home at 9:00 pm may not be plausible. But, shutting off your computer, heading to the conference room for a 60 minute step aerobics class and heading home at the end of rush hour certainly seems to make sense.
Starting a basic onsite fitness program is simple. Here are some tips to help you spearhead a program at your office:
- Contact your company benefits manager to see if a plan already exists for worksite wellness. If she does, give her your feedback; let her know you are eager to participate in her program.
- If there is no plan, ask the benefits manager if you can suggest some options and help promote a program within the company.
- Contact a service provider, such as Aerobodies Fitness, contact@aerobodies.com and ask them to visit your office for a site survey to suggest the best class options for your worksite.
- Motivate your coworkers. Your company will continue to support a wellness program if it is well-liked and utilized by the staff.
- Have Fun! Attend the classes, and give your feedback to the instructor to make sure all the class participants needs are being met.
